Julia is a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor who specializes in Somatic Counselling. She offers a warm, compassionate, and grounding presence where clients can explore their emotional and physical experiences. Her work centers on helping individuals reconnect with their bodies, emotions, and inner wisdom.
At the heart of Julia’s approach is the belief that the body holds both our wounds and our wisdom. When people experience trauma, stress, and overwhelming emotions, they often disconnect from their bodies as a survival strategy. Through somatic work, Julia helps clients gently rebuild this connection, learning to listen to the body’s signals with compassion rather than fear. She honours the connection between body, mind, and spirit, and supports clients in reconnecting with their intuition, truth, and sense of self.
Julia works with people who feel overwhelmed, burnt out, anxious, depressed, or disconnected from themselves. Many of her clients arrive feeling “not enough,” exhausted by life’s demands, or unsure how to navigate emotional pain, trauma, chronic stress, or spiritual transition. She also supports individuals facing chronic illness, caregiver burnout, relational strain, and those seeking relief from long-held body shame.
Julia’s approach is holistic and integrative, combining traditional counselling with somatic, spiritual, and mindfulness-based practices. She blends a range of modalities including Somatic Experiencing, Brainspotting, Attachment Therapy, Guided Imagery, DBT, Spiritual Counselling, and Mindfulness. She also has training as a meditation teacher, hypnotherapist, coach, and has completed many other continuing education courses.
Her path into somatic counselling is rooted in her own lived experience. Having navigated trauma, disconnection, and burnout herself, Julia discovered that the most profound healing came through embodied practices, mindful awareness, and compassionate self-inquiry. Her personal journey informs her belief that healing is not only possible—it is powerful, sacred, and deeply transformative. When Julia is not in the office, she is in nature, spending time with her family, and always has a creative project on the go.

Extended Medical: Julia offers direct billing through insurance companies participating with Telus eClaims. The major companies include: Canadalife, Manulife, Desjardin Insurance, Claimsecure. A full list of all participating companies can be found here: https://plus.telushealth.co/page/eclaims/help/insurer_coverage_html/Insurer_coverage_table.html Registered Therapeutic Counsellors (RTC) are covered by most insurance, but it is up to the client to check with that their insurance provider and specific benefits plan cover these services under their mental health benefits. Clients will be provided with a receipt to submit to their insurance company if it is not connected to Telus eClaims.
