Meditation

Starting up again in September 2018 (on the second Thursday of the month) we will be holding weekly meditations between 12:30-1:30pm every Thursday. Those weekly Meditations will go back and forth between Vipassana Meditation (with the Meditation instructor Sharon Van Buuren) and Yoga Nidra Meditation (with Pauline Monahan). We will also be hosting monthly Meditation and Pranic Healing gatherings (with Meditation instructors and Pranic Healers Elysia Raimondo and Carl Raw Ross).


Vipassana Meditation

This meditation class will be held every second Thursday at 12:30PM.

Vipassana, which means to see things as they really are, is one of India’s most ancient techniques of meditation. Vipassana is a way of self-transformation through self-observation. It focuses on the deep interconnection between mind and body, which can be experienced directly by disciplined attention to the physical sensations that form the life of the body, and that continuously interconnect and condition the life of the mind. It is this observation-based, self-exploratory journey to the common root of mind and body that dissolves mental impurity, resulting in a balanced mind full of love and compassion. Life becomes characterized by increased awareness, non-delusion, self-control and peace.

Sharon is an experienced Vipassana teacher who is passionate about bringing this deep and revealing tradition to the community.

Yoga Nidra Meditation

with Pauline Monahan

This meditation class will be held every second Thursday at 12:30PM.

Yoga Nidra is an ancient yogic practice that induces a waking dream state. One remains conscious while noticing sensations, breathing, body parts, images and memories. It disengages the thinking mind by entering a place between waking and sleeping. This has been referred to as “yogic sleep”. Yoga nidra can help people with symptoms of anxiety, depression, PTSD, phobias, and stress in general. Serotonin and dopamine are released, and cortisol levels are reduced through Yoga Nidra. It is among the deepest possible states of relaxation while still maintaining full consciousness.

Pauline Monahan has studied yoga and meditation and is a fountain of wisdom on the subjects.

Meditation & Pranic Healing

The Meditation and Pranic Healing gathering will be held monthly.

Come experience healing and rejuvenation with the simple techniques of Pranic Healing. We start with gentle exercises and a short Planetary Peace Meditation. This is followed by a casual healing clinic where everyone has the opportunity to have a personalized session by an experienced Pranic Healer on specific or general ailments. Both Carl and Elysia practice these techniques regularly and would love to share the health benefits with you.

Elysia’s passion and motivation in life is to assist people in their physical, psychological and spiritual healing. She is currently studying and practicing to become an Associate Pranic Healer through the Institute for Inner Studies, INC.

She has her Certificates in Basic Pranic Healing, Advanced Pranic Healing, Pranic Psychotherapy, Preparatory Arhatic Yoga, Meditations for Soul Realization, and Spiritual Business Management.

Carl Raw Ross is all about living raw – living from a place of truth. He is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist that specializes with plant-based diets, and is currently practicing to become a Pranic Healer. He works and studies alongside Elysia Raimondo and together they create a beautiful healing atmosphere that you can experience by attending their recurring Meditation and Pranic Healing event.
