Marie-Anna, a 22 year old, well traveled artist residing in B.C has an interest in human sciences, philosophy, healing, nature and sustainable living.
Each artwork is a physical visible expression influenced by a lived feeling. Some containing a personal story, learning or intentional message. Marie-Anna’s art has reacuring themes: examples are duality, oneness, connection to nature, animals/creatures and are in various mediums such as paints, natural material, computer and ink.
Her artistic story began in kindergarden, drawing mostly horses, dragons, lions and creatures by means of social escapism up until high school when she left Nova Scotia. With a fresh start in Vernon 2014, she became the youth artist in residence at the Vernon Community Art Centre allowing her to further explore colour, canvas as well as other tools with the realization that the use of art as a means to heal the self by tuning into what was being reflected. In parallel, effectively touching the lives of others through their own experience.
Marie-Anna wishes that her encourages inner growth everywhere. Future visions are to mural large beautiful provoking images, interactive, collaborative and installations work for free in public, festive and rural areas. She envisions that the prints will be sold mainly by donation and fund towards great causes.
Presently, funding is being gathered towards an earth friendly traveling home which will provide a living space, workshop and study space.
