Featured Artist ~ Elyse Curial Open Reception

My given name is Elyse Curial; Elysée is the artist name – my creative persona – that I sign onto my work. It means “imbued with bliss”. I paint using water media, mostly acrylic.

I was born into a large French family and was raised on an acreage near St. Albert, Alberta. I can remember appreciating and critiquing art from a very young age. My interest in design flourished while pursuing a career in travel and raising my own family; my art journey began in earnest in 2015, after living in the Okanagan for 12 years. It has been an exhilarating mix of self discovery and stylistic evolution, as I strive to expand my skills and perceptions of nature and the world around me.

I have exhibited in public venues in Vancouver, Kelowna and Vernon BC, and in several international juried online exhibitions. Some of my pieces are in public and private collections across Canada, the U.S. and the U.K. I work out of my home studio in Vernon, BC.
