Our Evening Yoga classes are now being facilitated by Leah Green on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30-7:30pm. Rachel Wyatt will be returning in the New Year (2019) with two new morning classes on Tuesday and Thursday, from 9:15-10:30am. In addition, Prenatal Yoga, as well as Mom and Baby have been added to the Studio’s class schedule: with Prenatal Yoga on Saturdays from 1:30-2:45pm & Mom and Baby Yoga on Wednesdays from 10:30-11:30am.

Yoga

with Rachel Wyatt (Martens)

Rachel is on Maternity leave until January 2019. In the New Year she will be returning to teach Yoga on Tuesday and Thursday at 9:15-10:30am.

Rachel’s classes create a nurturing space where slowing down and tuning-in to the rhythm of the breath encourage relaxation and healing. Her teaching aims to restore the unity of mind and body by inviting students to draw their attention inward so that they may learn how to observe and unwind habitual patterns. Rachel’s 6 years of teaching experience, and 17 years of practice in yoga and meditation make her a dynamic and intuitive teacher who attends to the unique process of each individual student. Beginners will feel welcome and will be clearly guided through a well-rounded sequence with detailed alignment cues and gentle hands-on adjustments. Rachel sings for her students at the end of each class.

Before becoming a yoga teacher Rachel was a performing artist and a clown in the circus. In 2003 she traveled to Mysore, India to study Ashtanga Yoga with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. In 2009, she completed a 200hr teacher training in Ashtanga with Rameen Peyrow, in 2011: a 200hr teacher training in Anusara with Chris Chavez, as well as a Restorative teacher training with Chris Manansala. She recently completed a Master of Fine Arts in Interdisciplinary studies at UBC Okanagan and currently runs a Performing Arts Program for 10-16 year olds at the Vernon Community Music School. She enjoys a daily practice of Vipassana meditation and loves living in her home town with her husband.

Prenatal Yoga

MOGA is the yoga community for strong moms and super babies. MOGA Moms is now in Vernon and has teamed up with Tidal Elements Healing Arts Studio to bring you MOGA Prenatal Yoga!

Pregnancy and childbirth is the most difficult journey your body will go through. Take time to connect with your body and baby in a grounding and strengthening 8-week prenatal yoga series. You will work towards calming your mind and strengthening your body while improving your flexibility and preparing yourself for birth and motherhood. MOGA’s Prenatal Yoga Series is also a great opportunity to connect with other moms-to-be in your community.

No previous yoga experience is necessary. All are welcome. No drop-ins. No makeup classes offered for missed classes. No refunds.

Mom & Baby Yoga

Yoga offers stimulation for the body and mind; it strengthens muscles and encourages flexibility. Our Mom & Baby Yoga series is great for those recovering from pregnancy and childbirth! By joining our Mom & Baby yoga classes, you are caring for your own physical and mental health without leaving your little one behind. In fact, our yoga classes and instructors integrate baby into the movement, so that your little one bonds with you while helping you strengthen those muscles (babies aren’t exactly light!).

Our Mom & Baby Yoga series is suitable for all moms and babies from 6-weeks-old to pre-crawling. No previous yoga experience is necessary; All are welcome at MOGA, and we offer tea and a chat after every class. No makeup classes offered for missed classes. No refunds.
