Courtney Barnes, RMT
Registered Massage Therapy, Craniosacral Therapy
Courtney knew she wanted a career in natural medicine and so pursued her dreams and received her Holistic Practitioners Diploma at the Canadian Institute of Natural Health and Healing in 2011. As her passion and curiosity for the human body grew stronger, she continued her education at Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy and graduated in August 2014. Courtney’s passion for learning new modalities will never die, but there is one modality that really speaks to her, and that is Craniosacral Therapy (CST). During her first year of the Massage Therapy program, she was introduced to CST and signed up for the level one workshop. It lit a fire in her heart so she plans on getting registered in Craniosacral Therapy as soon as possible. What she loves about this modality is that it gives the body a chance to recognize its old patterns and learn to correct them itself. It is very empowering and also very relaxing.Courtney approaches her treatments with a holistic view, and with the patience and compassion to understand how every client & treatment is unique. She believes listening to what the body needs and encouraging it to correct itself is more effective and longer lasting, while creating a safe relaxing environment for her clients. Courtney is registered with the College of Massage Therapy of BC and Registered Massage Therapists Association of BC. She is presently offering Registered Massage Therapy as well as Craniosacral Sessions and even offers Direct Billing as well as taking ICBC claims.

Registered Massage Therapy
Nicolas grew up in St-Malo, a small town south of Winnipeg, Manitoba.
While growing up, he was very active in the dancing community; Ukrainian dance, Ballet, Ballroom, Latin, and Swing were styles he practiced. Nicolas required many Massage Therapists visits to take care of his body.
It was during these appointments that Nicolas was inspired to follow a career in Massage Therapy. He truly believed in their many benefits.
He moved to Vernon for the Massage Therapy program at the Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy. Having completed the Massage Therapy program, he is now able to utilize his skills of treatment, as well as his knowledge of body movement, to help you move pain-free.
During treatment, Nicolas utilizes Craniosacral Techniques, Myofascial Release Techniques, and Joint Mobilizations. A self-care plan is also given to help continue the progress at home, understanding that the most effective therapy is a team effort.
In addition to working in a clinic, Nicolas also loves to teach. He has taught dancing for many years, and now has joined the teaching crew at Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy.
Nicolas looks forward to working with you to develop a pain-free state of health.

Coleman Smith, TCM
Herbal Medicine, Acupuncture, Acupressure Massage, Cupping & Moxibustion, Counseling & Lifestyle Coaching, Diet & Lifestyle Therapy, Gynecology, Orthopedics & Sports Performance, Pediatrics
From a young age, I suffered from many health problems, including scoliosis (an abnormal lateral curvature of the spine), migraines, asthma, and allergies. Disappointed with traditional treatment options (medications and surgery), I found Traditional Chinese Medicine… and it changed my life. This form of medicine, practiced for over 5,000 years, helped me overcome my pain and suffering and establish optimal health.
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is an ancient method of healing which treats the whole person naturally. This form of medicine is multifaceted and comprehensive, designed to treat the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of a person to bring about powerful, long-term healing.
As a practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine I use natural therapies (including acupuncture, herbal remedies, and recommended lifestyle changes) to treat the root cause of an illness. These holistic therapies activate (and support) the human body’s innate healing mechanisms to achieve sustained health and wellness. This is achieved naturally and without the risk of unwanted side effects.
Because every human being is unique, like their blueprint, each treatment plan is designed to address one’s individual needs. Ultimately, it is my goal to guide each person, using treatment and education, along their journey to complete long-lasting health and wellness.

Katherine has been a Registered Massage Therapist since 2003. She has been refining her skills with a technique called Craniosacral Therapy (CST) since 2007 under the mentorship of an osteopathic doctor. CST fascinated her with its ability to normalize the environment around the brain and spinal cord and enhance the body’s ability to self-correct. She is certified in Craniosacral Levels 1 & 2 and SomatoEmotional Release 1 through The Upledger Institute. She has also completed a 2 year diploma program through Body Intelligence, making her a Registered Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist®. Katherine has always enjoyed explaining about the body and how it works, so it was a natural progression when she began teaching practical classes at the local Massage Therapy College, OVCMT from 2008 to present. She believes teaching has been a wonderful partner in her learning process. Katherine also teaches a CST & MET course in Las Mulas, CHILE with her colleague Sheryl Hamilton, RMT. She has assisted in teaching the 2 year diploma program of Body Intelligence in Victoria, and is currently assisting with the training in Vernon as well.
Michelle’s fascination with the human condition started when she was 17 years old. Her biology teacher offered a special class field trip to a morgue and teaching hospital where she and her class mates took part in an autopsy of a 24 year old. During the learning process each organ was put on separate trays. It was the brain that struck Michelle when she held it; she was awed in that moment.Michelle is a true healing artist who fuses her 25 years experience of massage and art training into classes, play shops, and healthy living. Her healing nature is nurtured from the wild. She has been in love with nature since born and plays with gardens everywhere she has lived. she sees each spirit as a plant and knows much about many healing modalities.
Massage can bring you back to your authentic self. The skin is the largest organ, it has the capacity to feed the nervous system the key integrative knowledge linking the body to your mind. Michelle’s 25 years of experience in the field combines knowledge from many models of massage. This combined experience and vast knowledge include subtle energies and physical structures to alignment our intricate human anatomy. Having studied cranial sacral, myofascial release techniques and bilateral realignment, she will help relax you and bring more balance to your being.
Michelle is trained in art from a few disciplines, via fine arts programs at U of M and advertising art , and her many years of playing with colour as an interior designer/manager within fine furnishings and decor. In the last five years she has introduced art as “expressive healing time well spent”. Michelle also teaches art to those who have acquired brain injury and recently hosts Mandela Moments and Power Pieces Art filled work / play shops , watch for more of her inspiring colour filled classes. Thai Massage, Ayurvedic Massage, Yoga Therapy, Pranic Healing
Christopher Wallace is well trained in the healing traditions of Thai Massage, Ayurvedic Massage, Yoga Therapy & Pranic Healing, holding certifications in all modalities and a Diploma of Eastern Therapies and Bodywork from Pacific Rim College. The impetus of his healing journey started with his own transformative healing process. In accessing the Eastern healing traditions, he found powerful ways to address his own ails; which yielded deeper purpose and meaning in his life. He provides clients with the best possible care he is capable of, and ensures a safe environment in which people can come to release their tensions. Being truly passionate about aiding in the alleviation of people’s distress, his intentions center on enhancing the client’s quality of life. An empathic, attentive, compassionate and sincere person, he brings a depth of presence and warmth to his sessions.
Christopher’s main modalities are Thai Massage and Ayurvedic Massage. Thai Massage is done fully clothed, and incorporates acupressure techniques with passive yogic stretching. This is performed on a massage floor-mat. It is a delightful and holistic approach to bodywork, relieving tension and creating greater ease within the body and mind. Ayurvedic Massage uses gliding oil massage techniques and the treatment of pressure points. The massage motions follow along main nerve pathways and energy lines of the body. Both these massage modalities may be complimented by assigned yoga techniques and/or energy healing for enhancement (at the client’s request). However, Yoga Therapy and/or Pranic Energy Healing may also be offered as stand-alone practices. His treatments are skillfully designed in response to the specific needs of the people who seek him out for therapeutic massage and healing support. There is an underlying holistic framework and integrative approach to the practices he uses.
“I invariably walk away from each session with Christopher with not only a blissed-out body, but also with a greatly expanded awareness of myself and my place in an often baffling world. I believe Christopher’s clarity of intent in his practice, coupled with his powerful healing intuition, provides an opportunity to have a truly holistic healing experience.”
“I can’t believe how rejuvenated I feel after one of Christopher’s treatments. He is such an incredible healer, with good strong hands. I feel fully supported in releasing and relaxing through his therapeutic guidance. I highly recommend receiving massage from this very gifted and heartfelt individual. It is a real treat and privilege to receive his services!”
“Many times Christopher has been a life saver for me. I suffer from chronic neck and shoulder pain, and his amazing Thai massages have made a tremendous difference. He is also compassionate and caring, and his rates are really reasonable. I wholeheartedly recommend him as a body-work practitioner.”
“Christopher is a naturally gifted and very knowledgable healer. He listens intently and respectfully responds to the needs of each individual through a multi-faceted treatment approach which is uniquely suited to that person. It is an honour and a rare privilege to be treated by this wise and compassionate soul.”
“I have gone to see Christopher for Thai Massage; it was amazing. I was having back and kidney pain and he helped me work through the pain and I felt much better. He also gave me advice on what to do next for my own self-care. I have referred people with pain to Christopher with similar results.”
“Chris has remarkable ability and intuition. As an actor, my voice plays an imperative role in my work. To be “on my voice” requires me to be “in my body”. My sessions with Chris keep my body well-aligned and free of emotional and energetic blockages.”

For 30 years my path has led me to explore and discover alternative health options for longevity. Six years ago I discovered a new form of
QiGong called “Spring Forest” and was intrigued by the simplicity of this form of energy movement. After certifying I began sharing this moving meditation with many groups. The beginning of 2016 I felt the urge to create a program that would incorporate two energy movements that would be very simple to perform and adjust to the west coast energies of North America. Laffing Mooon QiGong was born for the benefit of all ages with the focus of two sessions 1. laughing 2. moving meditation.
